How to: Open a Permanent Storefront With Us

Posted by social@shirtsfromfargo.com BigCommerce on Oct 27th 2022

So you want to open your own storefront, huh? Or you're checking out our blog and saw this post. Either way, opening up a storefront is a cool process to learn about. Let's go through the steps together!

Step one: Pick a design

If you're looking to sell stuff with your design on it, you probably already have a design in mind. Then you've figured out your design! If you don't have a design, no worries, we can help you! All designs must be in vector format, and if you don't have that, we can do it for you!

Step two: Figure out what items you want to sell

Do you think your supporters would like a t-shirt? Hats? A tote bag? Mugs? There are endless possibilities to choose from, so no idea is too out there! Keep the season in mind when deciding, because tank tops aren't too popular in the winter. We recommend only a few items to start with, and adding more to your store gradually.

Step three: Determine your margin

Once we figure out exactly what you want to sell, and what your design is, then we talk margins!
The margin is what you will get to take home once someone buys your item. This can be whatever number you want, it will just depend on how much money you think your supporters would spend on the item. The margins are typically $2-$10.

Step four (the easiest part): Do nothing!

Once your invoice is paid, we start getting your samples made! All you need to do is sit back and relax. With a permanent storefront, you'll need to buy samples of each item in each color variant so you get to see what your products will look like in person and so you have something to model! Which brings us to the next step...

Step six: Your storefront is live!

That's fancy talk for "people can buy your items". Our website is open all day, every day for your supporters to shop at your store.

Step seven: Get paid

Every month, we will send you the profits you made from your sales. You can choose to take the money or use it as credit to pay for more transfers for orders, or to purchase your own items.

Sound like something you'd be into? Whether you are sure, unsure, have questions, on the fence, we'd love to talk with you! Email us at hello@shirtsfromfargo.com if you'd like to talk about taking this next step.
