“I wanted to create some imagery for a nonprofit organization called Plants for Patients. This organization makes handmade planters, fills them with plants, and attaches a note of compassion to each one before donating them to the Red River Women’s clinic for patients to take home after a potentially difficult treatment. I wanted to combine imagery relating to women’s health with plants to encapsulate the work of the organization into a simple picture. What I came up with was a beautiful flowering uterus that is suggestive of the power we have to create life, if and only if we choose to.” - Savannah Ehlers
